Over £90,000 paid out
Over £90,000 paid out in last quarter by local health charity
The Trustees of the WPH Charitable Trust have confirmed that they authorised the payment of more than £90,000 in charitable awards during their last ‘gifting quarter’. Twenty successful applicants received the amount in payments made following the Trustees’ last meeting in July 2016.
Sums awarded ranged from £300 to £50,000, with items purchased with the money including new beds, specialised pushchairs, wheelchairs, and a major contribution towards the funds required to employ a specialist Advanced Nurse Practitioner for a local hospice.
Many of the applications were made via the charity’s website, and the trustees confirmed they welcome all applications they receive through this route, and assess each one to see if it fits their charitable objectives.
Said Trustee Chairman, Rob Grieve: ‘We were set up to provide funding for individuals, groups and organisations to help prevent, relieve and cure sickness in Coventry and Warwickshire, using the funds raised by the sale of the former private hospital in Leamington Spa.
‘We would encourage anyone who seeks funding for healthcare needs to visit our funding and grant criteria page here and check their eligibility, and apply on-line if they do.
‘We assess all applications on a quarterly basis, and typically distribute significant amounts of money to the needy of Coventry and Warwickshire.’
